Issue 20 and Mother's Day

Did you know that it is Mother’s Day this Sunday? If you did not, here is your reminder to plan something special—you're welcome. In honor of Mother’s Day, The Collegian published one article interviewing students and staff about why Mother’s Day is important for them and another article where four students share some of the greatest advice their mothers ever gave them.

It is important to recognize not just the efforts of mothers, but also the efforts of those who work in child-care and those in mentorship roles. Because of this, The Collegian feature this week is on the Walla Walla University mentorship program and the experiences of two mentors who are passionate about their work. The Collegian also published an article about Discovery Preschool, which has operated right here on the WWU campus for decades.

The Collegian also has an article about InTents, which is happening this week on the Kretchmar lawn. As always, also be sure to read the humor column and the reissue.

Take time this weekend to call your mom or a person in your life who has helped shape you into the person you are today. If you are in the Walla Walla area, take advantage of the Balloon Stampede taking place this Mother’s Day weekend from May 12-14 at Howard Tietan Park. [1]

(Mom, if you’re reading this, happy Mother’s Day! Thanks for being the absolute best.)
