I am so excited that you have decided to join us! The letter from the editor is a short, recurring column where I get to tell you all about what to expect in each issue. Sometimes our issues will include a theme and sometimes they will be standalone articles on important topics.

Our theme for this week is ASWWU, and this issue is special because it was written by the ASWWU heads. Each article focuses on a different ASWWU department, and I hope you take the time to read each one because every department plays a unique role on campus.

The Collegian’s role on campus is also unique, and if you want to learn more about that and about how The Collegian operates be sure to read the article titled “An Inside Look at The Collegian.” I have been planning this issue, and really this whole year with The Collegian, for a long time. In the last three years I have worked at The Collegian as a writer, copy editor, assistant editor, and now Editor-in-Chief. Although I, along with my amazing team, have a lot of big ideas about what we want to do, in the end The Collegian is the voice of the students.
